We’ve received numerous messages, and their idea is mostly the same, that’s why we’d like to explain the most important things!
1. Jeff.
Image of Jeff is spoiled by its audience; we are not going to depict him as a dream of little girls. We see him as a young guy with the burnt face and the smile cut on it by himself. It could be any of us or a person from our neighborhood, who had yielded to the destructive influence of the modern society.
Complete absence of intellect. Psychosis. The murder of his family and the further bloody march. His story is much more interesting than stupid anime pictures on the Internet.
Jeff is not “pure evil”, imp or a person driven by a grim spirit. The sorrow doesn’t work with him, and you cannot reach an agreement with him. He is a false mirror of you and I.2. The movie.
We agree that the original of the story is quite stupid. We have most rethought it by preserved only the main ideas. The movie will be based on Jeff becoming a killer maniac.
We want to show the murders with the enhanced cruelty which can be hardly explained and to tell where it comes from. When writing the script we were inspired by slashers of the 80s and current TV news.
We are not going to show a 1.5-hour mayhem or unreasonable jumpscares.
The name of the movie will be “Jeff” without “the Killer”.
There will be no blue sky or green grass.
3. The teaser.
We wanted to attract the attention and we managed to do it. At least the most intolerant fans of creepypasta got exploded (we are sorry but that is true). However the majority got the idea.
Our teaser is an allegory to Jeff’s inner state. One shouldn’t take it literally, disengage yourself and you’ll understand the message. Captions worth noticing too.
4. The budget
«Indiegogo» asks to indicate the minimum sum that can be spent on the project. Have at look at budgets of horrors of the last years and make your conclusions.
We see this story deeper than it is presented on the Internet and we hope that you will see it this way too.
